Food Demonstrations
Ever wondered what wine goes best with a certain type of food? Attend our cooking demonstrations performed by several local chefs, and paired with a chosen wine. The highlight of the demonstrations will be Sunday evening's "Teflon Chef" cookoff determined by a distinguished panels of judges. Contestants will be given a certain ingredient which they must use in their preparations.

Saturday May 26th
4:30 PM Johanna Dailey with Llano Estacado presents an interesting talk on Texas Wines, their flavors and origins
5:45 PM “Chocolate Raspberry Wine” Be treated by a presentation by Brett Boeck focusing on particular wines and how they may or may not compliment certain desserts. Find out the best wine selection that can enhance the flavor of a chocolate dessert?
7:00 PM Stephen Savina, Constellation Specialist from Republic National Distribution Company will be presenting a fascinating talk on “The Robert Mondavi Legacy: the story of the most iconic winery in American history”. Join Stephen as he shares the fascinating and inspiring history of this legendary winery, tasting a wide variety of Mondavi specialties.
Sunday May 27th
5:45 PM Edward Costley from Republic National Distribution Company will give an informative talk highlighting the differences between New World and Old World wines, their unique characteristics and “the foods they love”. He will facilitate an educational wine tatsing and demonstrate how wine affects the taste of different foods.
7:00 PM “Teflon Chef Cook-Off”. This year reigning champion Chef Adrian Perez from Cooking Connections at the HEB/Saratoga in Corpus Christi will be challenged by Chef Joe Ruelas, Head Chef at King's Inn in Loyola Beach. Chefs will prepare three different dishes using Gulf Coast shrimp. Judging by five judges will be based on taste, texture, presentation and showmanship.
